We’re Dagenham’s first choice for MOT tests, and it’s easy to see why. We have a modern workshop with a dedicated testing bay, so we can carry out MOTs with ease. Our MOT tester is DVSA approved and has years of experience working on all sizes of cars. We’re open six days a week to carry out MOT tests and as a class 4 centre, we can inspect cars, small vans, taxis and bigger vehicles such as 9 seater minibuses.
Every vehicle that is over three years old must have an MOT test done every year or you run the risk of points on your licence or a hefty fine. It’s illegal to drive a car that doesn’t have a valid MOT certificate and you cannot get insurance without it.
The test itself takes around an hour to complete. There are a number of different checks that must be done and a strict checklist set out by the DVLA must be followed. Things like the exhaust emissions, brakes, tyres, steering system and gearbox are all checked to make sure they meet safety standards. Your mirrors, lights, windscreen and seatbelts are also inspected to make sure that they are safe and working properly.
Once our MOT tester has completed the inspection they will issue a pass or fail mark, depending on the results. You can fail for something as simple as a blown headlight bulb or worn brake pad, so it’s important to maintain your car. If you pass the test, we’ll issue a certificate which means your car is roadworthy for another year. If you fail, then we’ll need to discuss the next steps to get your car back on the road.
We can do all MOT repair work, so if your car fails then we’ll provide you with a quote for the work. We’ll never do the work without your approval and as long as your previous certificate hasn’t expired you can still drive your car. However, we would always recommend getting your car fixed before driving for safety reasons.
Once we’ve carried out the work, we’ll retest your vehicle and let you drive off once it’s passed.

Often, it can be very easy to forget when your MOT is due, which is why we have an MOT reminder service in place for our customers. We’ll contact you before your next MOT is due to book an appointment at a time that suits you. Your MOT test can be done up to 28 days before your existing certificate expires, so there’s plenty of time to find a suitable appointment.
If you’re looking to book your car’s MOT test, the easiest way is through our online booking system. You can book your appointment online 24/7 and check to find an appointment that suits you. You can also see what it will cost for your car’s MOT test, so you don’t need to worry about a surprise bill after the work is done.
